THQ Nordic Releases A Brand New Trailer For Wreckfest

Bugbear Entertainment’s demolition derby racer Wreckfest started development way back in 2012 when it was still known as Next Car Game. The game launched into early access in 2013 and became a big success for the studio on PC. The game is finally coming to PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow and, to celebrate, publisher THQ Nordic released a brand new trailer. Check it out below.

Wreckfest is all about fast action and massive car pileups. This trailer delivers on both fronts. The crashes in this game are oddly beautiful to watch. The pure carnage that Wreckfest deals in is something I will always stop and watch when I see it on a screen. I’ve been to a few demolition derbies in my time. So, seeing that spectacle turned up to 11 is mesmerizing to me.

Bugbear also does a great job of embracing its inner wackiness. There’s a part in the trailer where a guy is driving a motorized couch on a loop-de-loop and I couldn’t be more sold. Wreckfest lets you drive several different types of oddball vehicles during your playtime. From a school bus to a lawnmower, I love seeing them just completely go for it.

I’ll be interested to see how well the game performs on consoles. The game is absolutely gorgeous on PC and if they get the port right, this could be a great game, especially on PS4. With the Need for Speed franchise in a generation-long downswing, Sony’s console hasn’t had much in the way of arcade racers. Hopefully, Wreckfest can fill that void to some degree and give the Playstation something comparable to Xbox’s Forza Horizon series.

Wreckfest is out August 27 on PS4 and Xbox One. You can also pick it up right now on PC.

This looks fun, this game reminds me of burnout on ps3 and 360. I enjoyed playing burnout games. I would def get interested into this game.
