Kerbal Space Program 2 Blasts Off in 2020

Star Theory and Private Division's Kerbal Space Program is getting a sequel in 2020.

Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel we didn’t know we needed until it showed up, is coming in 2020. A reveal trailer shown at Gamescom 2019 confirms that if we can expect at least one thing from the space flight simulator, it’s humor. Those little green kerbonauts fumbling their way through space travel will always be funny. You can watch the trailer right here.

The trailer doesn’t tell us much in the way of new features, but the game’s website does. New to Kerbal Space Program 2 are colonies. Colonies will pose new physics challenges and will require players to gather resources for building structures, space stations, habitations, and different fuel types. Put enough time and effort into your colony and you’ll be rewarded with advanced vehicle construction.

Kerbal Space Program 2 also brings multiplayer to the fold while building on the modding capabilities found in its predecessor. If the idea of simulating rocket science sounds too daunting, the promise of better tutorials, UI, and assembly/flight instructions might put you at ease. Returning players can find new challenges in the form of interstellar travel.

Kerbal Space Program 2 will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2020. Console owners won’t have to wait this time around.
