Xbox Game Studios is bringing the beloved Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition to Switch as announced in the Indie World Showcase.

The rumors are true: acclaimed Xbox title Ori and the Blind Forest: Definite Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch. We’ll never get used to seeing the words “Xbox Game Studios” in a Nintendo presentation, but here we are, with the announcement coming at the end of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase presentation.

For those unfamiliar with the premise of the Ori games, Ori and the Blind Forest is essentially a Metroidvania that focuses on the eponymous Ori, a small white guardian spirit, and their guide Sein. Visually, the art style recalls hand paintings and sports bright colors and expressive character animations.

This release is another example of the growing relationship between these two top game companies, with Cuphead and Super Lucky’s Tale from Microsoft’s side coming to Nintendo’s console.

Xbox fans can look forward to the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, early next year; don’t be surprised if that eventually ends up on Switch as well. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definite Edition will be on Switch by September 27.
