It’s getting to be that time of year again, the time when a fresh, new Call of Duty drops. The annual shooter series is getting some shake ups this year with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and one of the biggest ones is the lack of a season pass. The series held onto that tradition long after most other multiplayer focused titles abandoned it. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be DLC. Oh no, there’s going to be DLC alright.

During Activision’s second quarter earning call, Chief Operating Officer Coddy Johnson not only confirmed that the game would have DLC (something we’ve known for a long time), but said it would have the biggest “pipeline” of DLC in the series history. And considering the mass amounts of DLC the series has had in the past, that’s quite the bold statement. He does not specify what it will be, whether we’re just talking about cosmestics or something more, but apparently, there’s going to be a lot of it either way.

“Fans will get a first taste of the action in our multiplayer open beta in September. We have a number of surprises in store after that, including the largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history.”

We’ll probably get a better idea of what that will be closer to when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25th.
