A new trailer for No Man's Sky Beyond gives players a look at new gameplay, online functionality, and more.

Thanks to a new launch trailer for No Man’s Sky Beyond, players get a new look at gameplay, online functionality, and more.

The trailer starts by highlighting that everything from the stars, trees, birds, down to the atoms in the world are all procedurally generated. From there, we get a third-person view of our character in a world teeming with other players, wildlife, and ships roaming the skies. Additionally, the trailer shows off the wide variety of areas, both on land and underwater, to explore in the game. For someone like me that hasn’t gone back to the game since it’s initial launch in 2013, this look at the game makes me want to pick the game back up.

In a post over at the PlayStation Blog, Hello Games Founder Sean Murray spoke about the update and everything it has to offer:

“No Man’s Sky Beyond aims to bring a huge range of features together into a cohesive whole, with expanded online, virtual reality, and hundreds of changes big and small,” Murray says. “We want Beyond to be the best time for players to pick up a copy, for lapsed players to rejoin, and for players with a thousand hour save to see the game with fresh eyes.”

Murray also points out the new update will let players do base building, space combat, and trade with players among other things. Additionally, the Beyond update will let players experience everything in virtual reality.

No Man’s Sky Beyond launches as a free update on August 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

It's insane to see this game, sooooooooo many years later, start to look like what it was supposed to be when it first launched. Such a damn shame it took so long.

The game does look interesting but it doesn't look like a game i would normally be into, i would play it if it was on the Game Pass or a mate gave me a go but wouldn't purchase it.
