Modern Warfare Reportedly Has Battle Royale Mode; Will Be Free-To-Play

3.9
According to rumors, Infinity Ward is planning a battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and best of all, it might be free-to-play.

If you were one of the people disappointed by the fact that Modern Warfare didn’t seem to have a battle royale mode planned, then I have some good news for you. According to some rumors by a credible individual, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will indeed be getting a battle royale mode…just later down the line than most people expected.

The rumor, which was revealed by YouTuber The Long Sensation (who previously leaked the title of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare), indicates that, while the mode will be connected to the main game, it will be available separate from the base package, and will also be available free to download. We previously heard that Activision was looking into a free-to-play component with this title, so this kind of lines up perfectly with what we heard.

On top of that, Long Sensation says that the mode will be available in 2020, during the game’s post-launch season. While this is a bit later than some people wanted, it certainly makes sense considering Infinity Ward just wants to focus on the three main modes of the game: campaign, multiplayer, and Spec-Ops.

Unfortunately, beyond that, we don’t know much of anything else about the battle royale mode itself. Of course, take these rumors with a grain of salt, but considering Long Sensation has been accurate about Call of Duty rumors in the past, I would think that it’s at least in the pipeline right now.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Daniel this is a really bad move i reckon, who the hell wants a battle royale mode, i wanted this new cod and one of the reasons being No Battle Royale mode but they have ruined it for me now. I don't have to play it i can leave it alone but it's just the fact of it being there.

the novelty has worn off Battle Royale modes on games, boring and a stupid decision to make.

It's literally a rumor, read a little more fam. Also this is the same leaker that said Blackout was going free to play from launch and oh look that didn't happen either.

He can't say that if the rumor should be true that it'd be a bad move? He's not even wrong, I'm fairly certain nobody wanted battle royale on this title, and putting resources into that would just show Activision's greed.

Not too sure about this move for COD. Battle Royale is literally in every other game, no need for me to try this mode out when I have many alternatives to play for this type of game mode.
