Valve Apologizes for Street Fighter V DLC Steam Leak

3.7
Street Fighter V DLC characters Poison, Lucia, and E. Honda were leaked early on Steam, so Valve has publicly apologized for their error.

Prior to a likely announcement at EVO 2019, Street Fighter V DLC containing E. Honda, Poison, and Lucia leaked via Steam. As the trailer went live on that storefront, Capcom decided to officially unveil the characters a bit early, ruining the surprise announcement. For those concerned about games or DLC leaking like this via Steam, Valve has confirmed that they are taking steps to ensure that something like the Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition – Summer 2019 Character Bundle leak does not happen again.

Valve’s pinned post in Street Fighter V’s community forums on Steam confirms that the leak was caused by “a mix-up in the publishing process” that pushed the trailer out before Capcom intended. Valve showed remorse for their actions, stating “it’s a regrettable and unintentional situation” before highlighting that “we are fans of Street Fighter ourselves” and apologizing for the error. Fortunately for companies like Capcom that are worried about leaks, the post states that “we have already implemented measures to prevent this error from happening again.”

Whether you were happy to learn about these characters early or not, Valve’s post should at least give developers piece of mind when they are preparing things on Steam prior to an official announcement. Funnily enough, this is not the only time Capcom has had to deal with characters leaking early, as Kage leaked last year. This is something Capcom probably does not want to perform a hat trick with, so hopefully it does not happen again.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is currently available on PC and PS4, with E. Honda, Lucia, and Poison hitting the game on August 4. While they can be earned via in-game currency, the characters will also be available for $5.99 each or in the $14.99 Summer 2019 Character Bundle.

Actually bought this dlc not too long ago. I love it worth the 14.99

Not a bad bundle price compared to some DLC games.
