Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 Come to Switch in October

3.7
Both Resident Evil games will drop simultaneously on October 29.

Perhaps one of the quieter announcements made during E3 2019 was that Capcom would be bringing both Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 to the Nintendo Switch later this fall. At the time of the announcement, a specific launch date had not been revealed but as of today, that has now changed.

Capcom took to Twitter today to announced that both Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will be arriving on Switch later this year on October 29. This means that essentially all of the mainline Resident Evil games outside of RE2, RE3, and RE: Code Veronica will all be able to be re-visited on Nintendo’s handheld-console hybrid. If you’ve never given the Resident Evil series a shot before, now’s your chance.

On a personal note, I’ve still somehow never played Resident Evil 6. The RE series might be my favorite of all-time but RE6 looked so bad to me that I didn’t even want it to taint my fond memories of the franchise. Maybe since it’s coming to Switch now though I’ll finally look to give it a shot.

If both of these titles are anything like the recent Switch version of RE4, I would imagine they’ll each be pretty standard ports. Hopefully, we’ll be able to share some thoughts with you on each new version of both games when they release in the fall.
