Resistance 3's New Multiplayer Map

4.6
With Resistance 3 close on the horizon now, developer Insomniac Games has stepped-up its reveals of some interesting in-game details of its post-apocalyptic shooter. Today on the PlayStation Blog, a new multiplayer map was unveiled, something that's sure to interest those gamers excited about the prospect of R3's more focused approach to online play.

We already knew about three maps, and between hands-on at industry events and the online beta currently raging for Resistance 3, we've played all of them. One map is in a prison in the African country of Chad. The two maps in the multiplayer beta take place at a train yard in Colombia and around a coastal town in England.

The newest map is in Australia, keeping up with Insomniac's scheme of having all of its multiplayer maps outside of the United States (where Resistance 3's single-player campaign takes place). As the two screenshots they've given us show, there are plenty of buildings in this Australian town known as Alice Springs. There's debris everywhere, and even a disabled anti-aircraft gun atop the roof of one of the town's more prominent buildings.

Unfortunately, this map doesn't appear to be available for beta purposes, but will be available when Resistance 3 launches in September.
