When it comes to showcasing gameplay, Deep Silver and Codemasters’ GRID, which was announced in the weeks leading up to E3, only received a brief work in progress video. That changed today though, as the pair released a GRID gameplay trailer aptly titled Race For Glory. Check it out for yourself below:
This trailer follows the recent announcement that GRID’s release date had been pushed from September 13 to October 11 “to give added exposure to a game we’re hugely excited about.” According to Game Director Chris Smith, the developers have been extremely pleased at the reception towards the game so far. “The response to the GRID announcement has been incredible and there is genuine excitement for us to reveal much more of the game. We set out to create an exhilarating racing experience which is like no other and the new trailer gives our fans a glimpse of what to expect.”
The new trailer for GRID mainly focuses on the Havana, Brands Hatch Circuit, Zhejiang Circuit, and San Francisco tracks as well as the Pontiac Firebird Modified and Chevrolet Camaro SSX Concept cars. When discussing gameplay, Smith comments that “players will encounter challenging and combative racing from all the AI drivers and this creates a living, breathing world where anything is possible and finishing positions must be earned. Whether it’s competing in the middle of the pack or going wheel-to-wheel for victory, there are no easy wins and our players will both enjoy and marvel at our most competitive GRID to date.”
GRID is releasing for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 11, 2019, though those who pre-order will gain access on October 8. The game will also be one of several launch titles for Google Stadia whenever that streaming-based platform arrives in November. As for Nintendo Switch players, they will have to settle for a GRID Autosport port later this Summer.
