Fortnite system requirements are built to scale over a wide variety of hardware configurations, but some of the lowest-end options will no longer work when the Fortnite season 10 release date hits next month. You’ll now have to have a DirectX 11 compatible graphics card in order to keep playing, so if you’re somehow still playing on a card too old to meet that requirement, you’re going to have to upgrade.

“While a DirectX 11-capable graphics card has always been one of Fortnite’s system requirements,” Epic says in the announcement, “we’ve kept support online for players with older graphics cards – so they could keep playing! However, when Season 10 begins, Fortnite will no longer be compatible with these older graphics cards. This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players.”

DirectX 11 has been supported on pretty much all graphics cards for the better part of the past decade, so this should only affect a small percentage of users – but given Fortnite’s player numbers, that’s still a significant number of people.
