Metro Exodus has popped onto Windows Store

Metro Exodus has choo-choo-chosen to launch on the Windows store next week.

Crafty Reddit users discovered a listing for 4A’s soviet locomotive on the Windows Store. The listing names June 9th as a launch date, just in time for the Xbox conference at E3 on Sunday.

Metro Exodus has been an Epic Games Store exclusive until now, and caught a lot of flak for that. While Epic exclusives have come to key resellers like Humble before, this will be the first time Exodus is available completely detached from Epic’s ecosystem.

Unless you pre-ordered back on Steam, of course. But don’t plan on Exodus making the return trip back to Valve’s platform anytime soon. Redditors speculated that Epic’s exclusivity deal may contains a specific clause to keep games off Steam.

While unverified, it wouldn’t be out of character for the firm. Epic boss Tim Sweeney is constantly putting pressure on Steam, demanding smaller revenue shares while threatening to snatch up more exclusives.

nicky wow weird? not steam? interesting... at least not w epic lmao

People are starting to think the contract wasn't just an "Epic Exclusive" just basically keep it off Steam for sometime. It's being put onto the Windows Store and apparently people on Reddit had mentioned it's coming to Google Stadia. And honestly, it seems like the publishers are going into panic mode with regards to sales on the PC. Epic/Tim Sweeny likes to spout that the PC sales were better than previous titles, which has some huge holes in it since none of the previous Metro games got as much marketing as Exodus did and I doubt they beat out all the sales Steam has had over the years for Metro games. If Epic/Tim was talking about Metro Last Light sales, that's really nothing to gloat about and try and make your launcher seem viable because the previous Metro title literally bombed on PC sales, so you would HOPE a newer game sells more than a previous bad sale, but they doesn't exactly give credence to say that your platform is a worthy investment. Epic/Tim are 100% trying to look good to the market and their shareholders with the exclusivity deal, but the CEO of THQ Nordic literally came out and said "absolute majority of sales were on consoles" and has refused to comment on the PC sales numbers, which is a worrying sign as you normally wouldn't have a problem showing what your sales numbers are, unless they are utter shit lol. So right now, I'm really believing that the Metro publishers are trying to make up for those loses by putting them on other platforms that aren't under so much scrunity like Epic is and is in rather regards hated within the PC community for the most part. But I'm sure once the contract is over and they can put it on Steam, they'll breathe a sigh of relief because that game will be bought up by the people waiting or the people who pirated it out of spite and who said they'll buy it on Steam when it comes out.
