Bulletstorm was great, didn't sell, says Epic

4.6
Speaking with Kotaku, Epic President Mike Capps lamented Bulletstorm's financial performance, saying that the title "didn't make money for us." However, despite its relatively poor sales, Capps implies that the game was still worth making, and that Epic-owned developer People Can Fly is more to the studio than a content farm for the Gears of War series. "The next thing we do with People Can Fly will be great," he said.

We loved Bulletstorm, so it's good to hear that lackluster figures in the consumer sector haven't blinded Epic to the FPS's stellar critical reception. Now that we think about it, a lot of games we've liked lately have been selling poorly. Maybe Joystiq is cursed? Maybe we shouldn't have stolen that gypsy's ice-cream. Or defiled that mummy's tomb. Or built our headquarters over this ancient burial mound. Whatever, this monkey's paw we got at that frogurt place should take care of it.

C_dogg That game sucked so bad. The multiplayer was horrible and the sad thing was i bought it before the demo came out and spent 60 full price on it. I dont know why i did.

Aw man Bulletstorm was by far one of the FUNNEST games I've played, noticed I said funnest and not best. It was such a great game, only disappointing thing was no Co-Op! I can't wait for the improvements and new weapons in Bulletstorm 2!!!!!!!

Great game, All the CoD fanboys need to give other games a chance. Not all games need good online to be a good game. True gamers like all kinds of games not just big titles like Call of Duty or Battlefield.

Dark_Stealth Anymore games like that, the company will suffer greatly.

It appealed to many people, just because you, along with many other didn't take to its style, does not mean epic won't carry on making games like this.

I thought this was a great game, although it could have been improved by making weapons more effective, but overall, a good game. Definitely sticks with epics genre, which can be seen from the start.( Characters, guns, gameplay...)

I thought the game was great. The only problem is that all these call of duty fanboys think the game sucks because, well it's not called call of duty.

In a sense, it goes just like this video:
