Bad Apex Legends Teammates Will Start Receiving Bans in New Update

"Piggy-backing" will now be considered a bannable offense in Apex Legends.
Respawn Entertainment will begin banning players who are joining Apex Legends matches and not participating. These players are typically using their teammates to survive longer into a match, therefore gaining more experience points at the end of the match as a result.

According to an update post on Reddit, Respawn will begin by temporarily banning players who participate in “piggy-backing.” In more extreme cases players could face a permanent ban. Based on data and user-feedback the problem seemed prominent enough where it needed to be addressed. Banning will not come immediately, but Respawn wanted to give their playerbase a warning before starting so players could adjust their playstyle accordingly.

Additionally, the Reddit post also gives us new details on upcoming changes coming to Apex Legends in the form of character hitboxes, audio adjustments, and some more minor changes.

In a blog post from Respawn Entertainment earlier this month, the team announced that they had banned over 770,000 cheaters in Apex Legends. So with that alongside this new update, players should have a much more enjoyable experience in-game as the developer intended.

Since the game’s launch, the studio has shifted their focus towards Apex Legends, “pushing out plans” for the next entry in the Titanfall series. This should be good news for hardcore players as many have criticized the game for rolling out large updates at a slower pace when compared to competitors. It should be mentioned that the team is also hard at work on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, so I don’t blame them for shifting their focus.

Apex Legends is available now as a free-to-play title on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about any upcoming content drops early next month at E3 2019.

Mario350 what a stupid idea, so im gonna get banned because i suck at being tactical and cant revive teammates because im in a fire fight with 5 other people? glad i stopped playing sofuking stupid to ban a guy who is being shot at by multi parties and or those that are learning

i understand being a moron and mm and not playing the game but again how would they know if youre just bad at the game like i am with only 6kills and 475 deaths over 480 games(game kept randomly crashing so the deaths dont count for those games at least to me they dont really count) with over 500 revives so i technically would be banned because im not killing people? dont quite understand the rule since being bad isnt breaking and tos or coc.

why not make it so you have to do face id which would stop the cheating prob since you cant bypass face id on new accounts unless you find a random person willing to not be allowed to play games anymore or a friend would be better then this stupid rule, unless again its for being a moron and only moving/technically afking/afcing(this means away from controller and its used for console users and people using them on pc) and not killing anyone, other then that if you cant find a gun youll be banned.



If this is true you should be banned. 6 kills with 475 deaths? That's pretty impossible to get that bad if stats. Absolutely insane, those are the worst stats I've ever heard if by far. And 500 revives? Try shooting st the people shooting at your teammates instead of hiding until they go down and then reviving them. Lol


Lol this is a gem, honestly playing with randoms in this game is hard enough, it's worse when your down a team mate when they just afk a whole round. No point in afk boosting so they should get a ban.
