Notch: Minecraft 360 “designed to work better on console”

4.6
Markus “Notch” Persson has said that 360 version of Minecraft was being made so it could work a lot better on consoles.“The 360 version with be a new product based of the PC version of Minecraft,” Persson told IGN.

“It will be designed to work better on a console and to focus on the types of experiences you expect when playing games on a game console. As an example of something that will change, the crafting needs to be done completely different. The current type of crafting with a game controller would be about as fun as name-entry is.”

He also confirmed that Minecraft for Xperia Play will launch this fall for €6.99.

But in what is probably the best from the interview, when asked if Minecraft would make its way to PS3 or Wii U, Persson answered: “I have been instructed not to reply to this question, so here’s a picture of a sheep instead.”

Bottom line for all the people saying why make a console version because you won't be able to install text/mod packs the answer is money, Notch wants more money as did you see before he would always say he wouldn't take it to console then FortressCraft has great success on the indie game section and now he wants too. Notch wants more money.

The mods and servers are what makes it better on PC...
Didn't Notch say he wouldn't want this to even come to console, back when he held the kinect hacking thing?

-Remember- It's stupid he wants to come to console! This game is meant for PC. When it comes to console, u won't be able to install mads, texture packs, skins, etc. Notch, think this through, don't come out for console, please?

Just because you can't change the game as you please, it shouldn't come out?

There's no reason he shouldn't release it on console. It hurts nobody, it's not taking any time out of development for PC players like myself and gives console players the chance to play it. Believe it or not, Minecraft is an extremely enjoyable game without texture packs and mods.

EradicationX I'm tired of hearing all these little kids whining about Minecraft going multiplatform.

I'm happy for minecraft, getting to branch out so more people can play. That's great!

I bet you anything, that he will incorporate a mode to where you can play with a keyboard and mouse.

It will run smoother, faster, look better, play better. You and your friends could have your own maps, and build them together.

When this game hits mainstream, the world might explode. I'm pumped for minecraft coming to consoles, and if your a nobody who in any way, shape, or form thinks that this is stupid. You can suck a fat one.

I dont know why people care if it goes multi-platform. The PC version and console version wont work properly together in multiplayer, due to the fact one is written in JAVA and the other in Microsoft's Shitty XNA coding. So they wont be able to use server plug-ins. It will also not be mod friendly.

TL;DR Minecraft PC version> Minecraft 360 version

This is pretty old news. Nonetheless, I'm glad Minecraft will be multiplatform (It's also coming to IOS).
