Football Players Have Officially Played This Year’s Call of Duty

3.9
Even though members of the press and YouTubers haven't gotten their hands on the new Call of Duty, one group has: professional football players.

It’s no secret that we know literally nothing about the next Call of Duty game, which is scheduled to release sometime later this year. While we are very quickly approaching the normal time that we would normally get the details on this year’s title, one group of people outside of Infinity Ward have already seen the game, much to my jealousy. Today several professional football players confirmed that they were able to attend a very exclusive, private event and play the new title.

Of course, given the fact that the title hasn’t even been announced yet, absolutely no details about the game were disclosed by the players, which consists of Florida State’s Jacques Patrick, University of Georgia’s Riley Ridley, and more. All the photos that were released from the event either feature the players against a very plain background or playing the game itself, with not even a sliver of the screens showing. While a small, distorted image of the screens can be seen on a TV in the background, it’s pretty hard to see anything on them.

Given the fact that it’s April 24, we’ll hopefully be hearing about the game sometime in the near future, which is rumored to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (although this is not confirmed whatsoever). Last year’s Black Ops 4 reveal was on May 17, 2018, so we are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of that game’s reveal and that was considered by fans to be a late reveal.

As of the time of this writing, we have no idea when this year’s Call of Duty will hit, but it’ll be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Xbox The last good year for cod was 2012 I really hope they can get the franchise back together and push out some much better games.

If xbox made a more powerful console we would get a good game. and tbh cod has made better games since black ops 2 it's just unloyal fanbase bandwagoning lamer games that's not helping cod situation.

Redacted That's it. Get people who don't play it early and not content creators that know what the playerbase want

They sure are lucky. I just wanna hear content creators thoughts on it bc football players are sometimes big gamers, sometimes not so much
