Xbox One S All-Digital Edition Console Officially Announced

3.8
Microsoft has finally officially unveiled the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which will be releasing for $250 on May 7.

After a couple months of rumors, Xbox finally announced the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition console today on Inside Xbox. On May 7, the new Xbox One S also being called the will finally be available for a $249.99 price tag. The big selling point regarding the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is that there is no disc drive a part of this new console.

The console will come out in now-classic Xbox color Robot White. Included with the system are three popular Xbox games: Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3. It also comes with a 1TB Hard Drive giving you a great start on memory as you try countless games whether it be from the Xbox Store or Game Pass. This is also following the news that Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold are going to merge together into an optional new subscription service call Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Having this all-digital console could attract gamers who do not have an Xbox but want to own the system solely for Xbox Game Pass, which Xbox has been pushing more than anything this generation. With that being said, it isn’t the biggest surprise that they are investing in an all-digital console. However, with being able to find the normal Xbox One S on sale across numerous sites for $200 it is questionable on whether or not people will pick up this new console at $250.

It was said on Inside Xbox that the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will always have the same sales as the normal Xbox One S making it more attractive towards gamers, but with some retail sites like Amazon having discontinued versions of the console for cheaper it’ll be interesting to see how this new console performs.

Just watched an unboxing video earlier today, not really a console for me but still a cool release towards the end of the ones lifespan. I'm looking forward to the next generation consoles!

Nice to finally see this! I havent bought a disc since CoD Ghost. Im shocked they didnt add a bigger harddrives since they got rid of the optical drive but knocking $50 off the console is a great deal.

$200 is the most I'd lay as Maze stated below. The games that come with it are on the game pass so not really worth it IMO.

No matter what comes with it I was really expecting a $200 price... and for it to be thin lol

Always seems like a stretch to me, however I'm not a big fan of this. Microsoft seems to release a lot of variations of their consoles near their end of life cycle.

XboxPrestige Price is a joke. I paid for the exact same console (S/1TB) with those games AND a disc drive, brand new, for less in the sales a few months. Why would people want to pay more, for less? Not to mention Digital Sales on the Microsoft Store are expensive. Ebay, Amazon & CDKeys all the way for digital game codes now.

Not all games are obtainable through digital codes either.

Sounds December although I think my console days are coming to an end.

Seems pretty pointless as I see next gen round the corner. Maybe they're testing the discless
