Mortal Kombat 11 PC Version Will Use Denuvo DRM

Denuvo’s anti-tampering solution, DRM may not be the most popular thing among PC gaming audiences (to put it mildly), but that doesn’t stop developers from using it in their games commonly and widely. The upcoming PC version of Mortal Kombat 11 will also be using Denuvo DRM, as the game’s Steam page confirms. While this will undoubtedly upset a fair few number of prospective players, the hope remains that NetherRealm Studios will remove it not too late after the game’s release, as developers often tend to do with their games.

NetherRealm’s games have usually had a spotty track record with their PC versions in the past either way, but the studio has assured fans that Mortal Kombat 11 will be making sure not to follow that pattern. It’s being handled by QLOC, who handled the heavily improved PC version of Mortal Kombat XL, and are also credited for significantly improving Injustice 2 on the platform.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on April 23 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
