Halo: The Master Chief Collection Will Not Require Xbox Live Gold

3.4
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will not require you to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online

Still on the fence about picking up Halo: The Master Chief Collection for your PC? Well if you were worried about whether you need Xbox Live Gold to play online, you’ll be able to experience the multiplayer without needing a Gold subscription.

The only thing you will need to play is a regular Xbox Live account, which you can just create one for free. This is required even if you choose to purchase the collection from Steam instead of directly through Microsoft, however. Though this is exciting news, this isn’t surprising given that all Xbox Live games on PC don’t require Gold either. Either way, it’s exciting to know that you don’t need to fork over extra cash to enjoy this collection on PC.

So get your squad together and get ready when Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases on PC later on. We’re still a ways away from any other news, other than the fact that this collection will, in fact, come with Halo Reach and will be the first available title to play on PC.

You can now add the game to your Steam Wishlist, to get all the upcoming news as to when this game will be available.

Will you have to rebuy the game?

Awesome, finally something decent that people don't have to come out of their pockets to play.

Well this is good news, for everyone lol
Here is my thing with mcc on pc, how many people are gonna stick around and actually play it? Is it gonna be like mw2 BC? Everyone was hyped for a week then it was over? These games have been out for 10+ years and will never be the same as when we were kids. You need to truly love halo to still be grinding it out.

Eternity They've done this with all of their Play Anywhere games on PC, and I'm glad to see the trend is continuing.

Really? Did not know this explains why my friend didnt need to buy gold when he was playing gears 4 the other day. At launch he needed a gold subscription glad they added this feature.

I'm glad they continued down this road, good thing they did this.
