Doom Eternal Will Run on Google’s Stadia in 4K and 60 FPS

Doom Eternal, the sequel to id Software's Doom reboot, will run at 60 frames per second and 4K resolution on Google's Stadia gaming platform.

Today, during Google’s GDC 2019 Stadia announcement, id Software Executive Producer Marty Stratton got on stage to announce Doom Eternal will be playable on Google’s recently announced gaming platform, Stadia.

Not only will it be playable on the new platform; it will also run at 60 frames-per-second, 4K resolution, and HDR visuals.

Currently, id Software has quite a lineup of games coming out in the near future. First will be Rage 2, the sequel to the open-world post-apocalyptic shooter from the Xbox 360 days. Set a few years after the events of the first, Rage 2 looks to be a more colorful and fast-paced take from its predecessor. If you want to see what we thought of the game, you can check out our most recent preview courtesy of DualShockers’ Editor-in-Chief Lou Contaldi.

The second is Doom Eternal, the follow-up to the 2016 reboot. Unlike the first, Eternal will bring Hell on Earth with new weapons and abilities to fend off those pesky demons. From the initial trailer, it looks just as brutal and fasted-paced as the last. A release date has yet to be revealed but more info on Doom Eternal will be at this year’s E3 at the recently announced Bethesda showcase event.

This is just one of a few announcements made during Google’s GDC 2019 Stadia announcement. Check back on the site for more news from the event.

Yeah E3 is going to be great, but this in 4K will be amazing.

C4 Awesome Idea but the latency may be killer.

Apparently it was designed and tested for low latency use and it still provided high quality at 60 FPS.
