Nintendo Direct Focusing on ‘Nindie’ Games Arrives this Wednesday

Get a look at many of the new indie titles that will be making their way to the Switch in Nintendo's latest showcase video this week.

Coinciding with GDC 2019 and ahead of PAX East, Nintendo announced today that it will again be holding another ‘Nindies’ video showcase later this week.

Set to take place on Wednesday, March 20 at 9:00am PST/12:00pm EST, the Spring 2019 Nindies Showcase is said to be about 30 minutes in length. Per usual, this Direct-style presentation will opt to forgo focusing on Nintendo’s upcoming first-party titles and will instead spotlight indie games that are making their way to the Switch.

Typically, Nintendo opts to hold these Nindie showcase videos about twice per year both before PAX East in the spring and PAX West in the fall. With both of these aforementioned conventions having a large focus on indie games, these Nindie showcase videos from Nintendo allow those who are attending PAX to get an idea of some of the games that they might be able to see at the show. If this week’s video is anything like previous Nindie Directs, it should be packed full of tens of upcoming releases that you’ll be able to play in the future.

Of course, we’ll be covering the showcase here at DualShockers as we always do. If you can’t tune in to watch the presentation for yourself, be sure to keep checking us out as we’ll have all the biggest news about these upcoming indie titles posted on our website.

Indie games haven't been something I've ever been into, but the Switch is just becoming more and more impressive.

They have been doing great things with the switch too bad I'm not really a fan of indie games.
