Halo 4 To Return To Series’ Roots

Halo 4 is going to kick start a new trilogy, giving Halo fans the continuation of the beloved series. However, even though the series is moving forward, 343 Industries intends to take Halo 4 back to what made Halo such a success in the first place.

Microsoft UK’s Xbox & Entertainment director Stephen McGill stated in a recent interview, “One of the key things with Halo 4 is going back to what made it amazing for people playing the first Halo.”

“But the people who are 18 years old now were only eight when Halo appeared. They probably didn’t play it. That’s the opportunity the Anniversary pack and then Halo 4 have.”

So what do you make of this return to roots for the Halo series? Any theories?

Halo 4 currently has an unspecified 2012 release date, with Halo: CE Anniversary scheduled for release on November 15th, 2011.

for lol i was four when halo appeared and i played it all the time, you can blame my older brother haha, if any of you haven't played CE, get anniversary, it was truely an amazing game and im getting it while i still own the original copy

Same here in my opinion halo ce was a start of something great and the revamped anniversary version will make it even better.

Yeah halo was a big step into the gaming world and has had an effect on many games today.

i was a little kid when it came out and had no interest in playing it.. i loved baseball games on the ps2. :) Cant wait for this though.

i didnt start playing halo until the 3rd one came out. Its a good idea for 343 to remake a game for the "newer" halo fans.
