Apex Legends: Respawn could be adding Solos and Duos modes

Dataminers have reportedly discovered lines in the game’s code that indicates Solos and Duos are on the way.

Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has started digging into Apex Legends’ files to ferret out tidbits that might indicate what Respawn has up its sleeve for the future of its free-to-play battle royale title, and it looks like Solos and Duos are on the menu.

The leak was shared on both their Fortnite account, and their new dedicated Apex Legends account, ApexUpdate, and shows code for a Solos mode, as well as a two-man squad.

This particular dataminer has a proven history when it comes to Fortnite leaks, but as Respawn has yet to officially announce anything, it’s best not to get too excited just yet.

Earlier this week, dataminers also found a reference to a ranked mode – something that will set it apart from Fortnite, with Epic opting for in-game competitions that it calls “an evolution of the traditional ranked system,” despite it being a feature that the community would like to see make its way into the game.


The game currently features three-man squads, that design director Mackey McCandlish told us was a result of the devs “looking for social opportunities” which “manifested in this game’s three-man squads, pinging a smart comms system that helps squads coordinate, and respawn chambers keep squads playing.”

Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and recently hit 10 million players and one million concurrent.

After climbing to the top of Twitch in the days after its release, and pulling in triple the amount of viewers as Fortnite, it’s currently sitting at No.2 with 298k viewers, compared to Fortnite’s 357k.

god I hope so, randoms are annoying as hell and I really just wanna play solo when my buddies aren't online

I feel like 3s is perfect for this game. Or solos. I tend to only find a couple people that want to play at the same time. So we always end up with a random. Solos would be epic in this game. Hopefully they release more maps and weapons sooner rather than later. Got my first gold mastif today and dropped 12 kills with a W literally the best gun in the game hands down. Was doing 115 damage just mapping people.

I need solos, duos and quads but from what I've played so far on this game I have been enjoying it a lot. Got my first win with 9 kills the other day. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game progresses in the future.

ALSO The Battle Pass is a seasonal system that rewards players with exclusive cosmetic items. These rewards are a mix of exclusive seasonal cosmetics and Apex Packs. Every player can unlock some of these items each season through normal play; those who choose to purchase the Battle Pass can earn everything available that season, around 100 different rewards

Mario350 oh you mean playstyles that should been in the game to start, maybe fix the mouse bug as well, they dont know what they are doing


Maybe you should go develop a game for them?

They probably put as little effort, time, and resources into this game as possible. For the simple fact that if it was a major flop things wouldn't look so good for EA or Respawn.


Like the game literally just came out. No game releases with no bugs and perfect gameplay 100% of the time. I can't imagine getting a fun game for free then complaining about it. Just play something else, you didn't waste money on it???
