PUBG and Fortnite Top PlayStation Store’s Download Charts for December

4.1
The holiday season was all about everyone's favorite battle royale titles according to PlayStation Store's latest download charts.

For many people, the holiday season is all about spending much needed time with loved ones and making the most of the brief time away from work. For video game fans, however, it’s all this plus trying to squeeze as much gaming into this short break as possible. This includes downloading hot new titles along the way, and PlayStation Stores’ December charts, proves this in spades.

The runaway games this past holiday season included obvious titles such as the absurdly popular Red Dead Redemption 2 along with the latest installments in long-running military shooter franchises Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V.

However, it seems that the runaway title for last month was none other than PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. With an enormous following already on Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices, PUBG has taken the top spot during its first month of release on PlayStation 4.

In the Free-to-Play section of the charts, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ main rival Fortnite claims first place. The favorite most popular game in the world appears to keep gaining traction by continuously altering the title and adding in new elements, despite also being the focal point of ongoing controversy.

Both PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite are available now on PlayStation 4. You can also play each of these titles on Xbox One, PC, Android, and iOS. Fortnite is also avalable on nintendo Switch.

When sitting in my patrol car on night shifts I tend to play this however I noticed it's mostly bots. I'm like level 21 and maybe get a real player once in a blue moon, unless everyone just sucks which I doubt.
