DICE Defends Position on Launch DLC for Battlefield 3

4.5
Yesterday, word got out of a boycott kickstarted by Battlefield 3 fans who were furious over pre-order customers getting rewarded with extra multiplayer content that regular consumers wouldn't be able to obtain. Hoping to stamp out this potential imbalance, over 3,000 gamers joined the cause.

Developer DICE has responded to the issue, defending the decision to reward pre-orders with extra content while assuring fans that it won't create a gross advantage online.

"We believe in rewarding our core fanbase with special offers -- such as giving them the Back to Karkand expansion pack at no extra charge." said the company in a Q&A. "... The three exclusive items in the Physical Warfare Pack were specifically chosen not to be overpowered or imbalance or break the game in any way."

So there you are. I wouldn't be too concerned though, it's not like EA to not want to sell you that DLC later anyway, even if it's exclusive to pre-orders for now.

haydoe It won't be a problem if they release it as a dlc like a map pack but getting should be a problem for most. You can only get it if you pre-order through "GAME" which is a company in the UK i believe or maybe Britain and they don't ship to the US without serious shipping charges. So all you people talking about just preordering at gamestop or bestbuy, you will not receive this!... that won't cut it. Unless your spending quite a few extra bucks on some shipping and handling.

If I'm im wrong sorry and please correct me.

UK and Britain are the same btw and yes game is a English company who are only in England

haydoe Yo just checked some things out with shipping and transfer rates it'll cost $73.07 US dollar to buy battlefield 3 from "Game" and it won't get to you house until 4-6 days after its released.
Enjoy!

Well every game or item ive ever ordered from game.co.uk, I got it a day before release date.
