Black Ops 4 – Activision Is Shamelessly Selling A Single Dot For $1

3.7
Microtransactions are a harsh reality of video games and though there’s thankfully been a great deal of pushback against predatory practices and overbearing monetization policies in recent months and years, there’s also been a greater tolerance for cosmetic mircotransactions- which makes sense, to an extent, because that are just cosmetics. But this new available purchase in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is, to put it politely, a bit ridiculous.

Activision is basically selling players a single dot for 100 COD Points, which is $1 (via MP1st). You did not misread that- it’s a dot for $1. To be more specific, it’s a reticle that can be used in Reflex sights called “Open Dot”- and it costs a buck. Of course, thanks to the Holiday season sale that is currently in effect, you can buy that dot for 50 COD Points, or $0.5. Which is even more ridiculous, somehow. The good old days when we used to complain about having to purchase horse armour almost seem like paradise now.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

All micro transactions are out of hand, with this game being no exception.

are we forgetting, that Fortnite sells skins for like £20 a pop? and on top of that, you've probably spent like 200 - 1000$ average < person > on the game... and you're complaining about them adding coesmetics to a game that's £60 if you don't like it, don't buy it lol.

Everyone can either keep complaining about their greed or move on. The cod we know and love is long gone along with the developers of that time period. Activision is the new EA Games.

Xbox I honestly hate micro transactions in games but it's the way of the times and as long as people keeps spending a shit ton of money in it they aren't going to let up.

im with you i hated when all f2p did it but that was for the server costs, i hate that triple a devs are selling games with stuff that should be free, or that the game itself should be free, thats my opinion and im with you on hating it in games

It's an Activision game at this point we should expect greedy microtransactions.

Well yeah they are a money hungry company. That's why they release the same game every year. This is just sad lmao

This is not that bad. What really sucks is that some players have to pay for new maps and all that
