E3 2011: Kotick shunned by EA on show floor

Activision exec sees request to play Battlefield 3 declined by rival
The most respected journalist at Future's consumer site CVG has reported of a quite remarkable shun on the competitive floors of this year's E3.
The site has been told by a "senior informant" that the personal assistant of Activision CEO Bobby Kotick was seen at the EA stand requesting that her boss be given an allocated slot for some hands-on time with EA's Battlefield 3.
Apparently, after some small amount of deliberation, her request was declined by the EA rep on hand. The excuse given was that senior management had said that "it wouldn't be possible".
CVG reckons a small verbal exchange ensued before both parties parted company.
Pinches of salt to hand? If the piece hadn't been penned by former MCV'er Tim Ingham, perhaps...

IW made cod 4, mw2, and now campaign for mw2
3arc made waw, black ops

And since when does Activision make COD?

Activision and Infinity Ward made Cod4
Activision and Treyarch made WAW
Activision and Treyarch made MW2
and Finally Activision and Treyarch made black ops.

Same thing Over and over again, They've even used the same engine for every single release.
This is why I'm going out and buying BF3 and not MW3 because BF3 has actually put allot of effort into re-hauling the entire engine to make it better for the players.

Until Infinity Ward/Treyarch/Activision suffer from a poor sale they wont improve the fundamentals, they seem to think they crap gold every time a new one is released because people buy it as there isn't another top dog in the FPS industry.

They may only be the publisher, but they have a lot to do with what goes on in the development.I just hate activision. Its not 3arc and IW's fault that their games were messed up. Activision is the one who pushed the games out before they were ready.

Bottom line guys, Call of Duty is a big franchise with alot of fans. As long as something even remotely resembles the name Call of Duty the fans will buy it. Do i think activision is getting a little greedy? Yes i do. Mw3 to me looks the exact same as Mw2, but guess what? Im still going to buy it.

I personally don't like battlefield. Never really have. Im not shunning the game because I do like their campaigns but when it comes to multiplayer battlefield will never win.

You must be one of the Cod fan boys. Dont get me wrong, I like cod, but Im sure BF will win this year. Cod still uses a refurbished version of the Quake 3 engion. Activision has alot to do with Cod, heck, every publisher has alot to do with to with a game. Obsidian made FO:NV and it was alot like FO3. Publishers work on the game alot. Thats why Medal of Honor looks like BF because it was published by EA, same with home front. Learn your facts.

I also agree that BF3 will be more dominant than MW3 but don't go around accusing people of what they're not. Read before you post.

From what i read you said they dont use the same engions. Sorry for accusing you as a Cod Fanboy because i read it too fast. Bf will actually win this year.
