YouTube’s top three gaming trailers this year were all Fortnite

4.1
Fortnite is popular. Yes, quite sorry to drop such a stunning revelation like that on a Wednesday, but here we are. Epic’s battle royale took four of the top ten spots among this year’s top ten game trailers on YouTube, including the entire top three – and number one is an order of magnitude bigger than anything else on the list.

The Season 5 announce trailer – the one with the rifts and the live-action bits with the Durr Burger in the desert – is in the top spot with 48 million views. The Port-a-Fort debut is at number two with 35 million views, and the reveal of Playground Mode comes in at third place with 34 million views. The debut of the Season 5 battle sits at 19.5 million, putting it at number nine.

Fallout 76 is the only other PC game on the list. The official trailer from E3 is in fourth place with 33.8 million views, from back when the world at large was still optimistic over the possibilities of an online Fallout. Red Dead Redemption 2’s third official trailer is the one other triple-A release on the list, coming in at number six with 27.9 million views.

So what else is there? Mobile. Game of Thrones: Conquest, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale fill out the rest of the list. It’s worth noting that YouTube often counts ad views as standard video views, so that will contribute to the overall view count – and that’s just as much a factor with triple-A game trailers as mobile releases.

Whether you love or hate the game, you can't deny how big and still continuously expanding this game is.
This isn't surprising at all tbh.
