Next Xbox Dev Kit Reportedly Called “Anaconda”

4.2
That Microsoft is working on the next-generation is no secret. Even though we would have figured that ourselves anyway, based purely on the fact that we’re five years into the current generation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer himself confirmed as much at E3 2018. Since then, we’ve also heard reports that the next Xbox is tentatively being called Xbox Scarlett, while other reports have also brought up the possibilities of it using cloud technology, and Zen 2 and Next Gen AMD GPU.

While we have nothing quite as substantial in this particular case, we do have something. According to a Twitter post by Jez Corden, senior editor at Windows Central, the development kits (software development tools for hardware that are designed specifically for game development purposes) for the next Xbox are codenamed “Anaconda”. As Corden points out, that’s in line with some of Microsoft’s other recent dev kits, which were also named after reptiles- Xbox One X’s dev kit is called “Chuckwalla”, while the original Xbox One’s dev kit was called “Durango”.

There’s no way of knowing how credible this is, so take this with a grain of salt.

interested to see how bad they will **** this up, i swear if games dont cross i will not be purchasing either for quite some time. Even at the point having to repurchase all my games again i might give up at that point.

I really hope that the next Xbox and PS5 both support the entire library for the previous consoles.
