Dragon Ball FighterZ November Update Adds Custom Tournaments

3.7
While the wave of Season Pass DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ may have ended, it looks like developer Arc System Works and Bandai Namco Entertainment don’t plan on ending support for the game, which has sold over 3.5 million copies, anytime soon. Today marked the release of November Free Update, and it adds custom tournaments, new seasonal Z Capsules, and more to Dragon Ball FighterZ.

This update is available on all platforms so, thankfully, the more recent Nintendo Switch users won’t feel left out. As I mentioned before, the biggest part of the update is custom tournaments, called FighterZ Tournaments in-game. Players can create tournaments and apply up to 70 unique tournament rules, which range from skill-based to gimmicky. My personal favorite is Yamcha-only mode. Who wouldn’t want to play that?

Players can create a tournament or join one during its designated time, and will make it to the Top 8 bracket if they do well enough. Doing well will also net players Z Trophies of various notable Dragon Ball items and characters. These can then be placed in Z Trophy Rooms, which are bought with Zen and can be decorated with trophies and avatars.

Finally, this update mixes in some new holiday-themed Z Capsules encompassing stickers, character outfits, and avatars. If you’ve ever wanted to walk around the lobby as SSGSS Vegeta in a Santa outfit, now’s your best chance. While it may not add a new character, this free update is still a hefty and notable one.

You can check out the trailer highlighting what’s new in the November Free Update below. Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
