Security expert says PSN still not safe

While Sony is busy welcoming its customers back to PlayStation Network, some aren't celebrating just yet. Speaking to IndustryGamers, security expert Gregory Evans said that PSN still isn't safe because Sony is "relying on the wrong people to secure their system." Specifically, Evans believes that Sony (and most companies) use "IT managers" instead of true security experts or, to put it a different way, hackers.

IT managers, in Evans' estimation are "just book-smart people who went out and read a book and passed the test." He likened them to military infantry, trained only in basic skills, whereas hackers are more like highly skilled Navy SEALS.

Evans would seem to be something of an expert on the subject ... having been to federal prison for hacking major companies like AT&T, Sprint and Worldcom. Evans now runs a security company, helping companies build more secure networks. Sony isn't a special case, however, as Evans noted that any online-capable gaming console is potentially at risk and no network is completely secure. He added further that "these attacks will continue to happen." So, happy gaming, everyone!

PlayStation 3 is not better

Xbox 360 is better same with our network, Xbox Live.

Sony is a Asian company who makes money off hiring cheap employees cheap materials and low grade equipment but makes it look like there stuff is good. More Asian company are Samsung and LG and companies like that are cheap Asian company's why do you think there profit margins are so high e.g. $20 to make cheap ass PS3 and sell for $400 like its something good profit margin of 95%.

Microsoft, One of the biggest success stories of wall-street. A company who invented the 1st OPERATING SYSTEM of which if it didn't happen you wouldn't be here right now. Microsoft has been here since the early 1980's and has just conquered everything and stuck to HIGH quality products not cheap labor made stuff from china.

Microsoft=A good respected corporation with High quality goods and services and given opportunities to companys like Netflix, Paypal and many companys to help expand there services.

Why do you think we pay $8 a month for Xbox Live?
Because were not cheap and it is an excellent high quality service with the latest security technologies to keep us safe.

I completly agree with you that Xbox is better. I just wanted to point out that Sony actually [b]lose[/b] money on the PS3. They sell it for less than they made it for. Why? Blu-ray is a disk format run by Sony, and by having one of these integrated into every PS3 sold, means that there will be lots of people buying Blu-ray disks, resulting in Sony gaining a small profit from every one sold.

To be honest I'm looking forward to the downfall of XBL even though am an avid Xbox 360 gamer.
Mainly because It forces the company's to look toward future software/consoles faster and to achieve something allot more secure the next time around.

Without things like this happening consoles would not evolve in accordance to Moore's Law.
