Only scripted destruction for Modern Warfare 3

4.4
All those explosions, wrecked buildings and bits of flying rubble in the Modern Warfare 3 trailer? Purely scripted, NowGamer has revealed.

At a demonstration of the game that took place earlier this week, the site discovered that there would be no organic destruction featured in the Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer sequel. This goes against recent rumors that suggested the game would be upping its tech to compete with EA’s Battlefield 3.

As the site puts it: “firing bullets at surfaces and throwing grenades merely results in slight texture changes, rather than real-time destruction.”

Disappointing, but expected we guess. Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 8.

officialRainbow Atleast it won't end up like BF3 where p[people will destroy builings to hide in them with LMGS and camp with medics and Assaults...

Which just shows you've never played a Battlefield game, because if you had you would know that you cannot get into completely destroyed buildings.
I know right?

Yes you can, this shows that YOU never played a Battlefield
game.

Who destroys a building and then camps in it? Blowing up the walls would destroy your cover.

But I doubt it will stop anyone from still getting the game

thePiManx that's good! and here's why.

bandwidth is precious.

every one of the followings must be sent to each and every xbox connected.

all the 'openings' created from the destruction.
all the 'crumbling' of items.

and now imagine five of those happening in front of you from five different players on five different buildings.

lag!

that's fine in single player, but not online!

Bad Company managed it with no lag at all. I like both games and I think even just a little bit of destruction would fit great into MW3...

If I am not mistaken, Bad Company has dedicated servers. So there is no host and it means that any lag is due to your internet. Mw3 will be player hosted like all the other CoD's so It would be difficult to do on the current CoD system. So, get dedicated servers and have some building destruction!

too bad EA's so called dedicated servers are crap and all of their games lag

there should be places to breach and clear on multiplayer maps

good, i play battlefeild when i want it more realistic game, and cod for more i dont know how to put it "tactical" i like to camp sometimes so

Wow this is one of the main reasons why CoD lacks realism, too..

Since COD is a small based game, it does not have alot of free entities. BF has alot of them, mabey even unlimited of them. I found this out alot with modding games like MW2. If you throw alot of C4s the game will lag and then kick you out saying no more free entities. I can throw 150 C4s in BF and nothing will happen.

im not sure if that would make a big difference in the game.. plus from my experiences in BF2 the exploding walls looked extremely fake!
