Intel’s new 9th Generation processors can reach speeds up to 5 Ghz

4.1
Intel has revealed the new 9th Generation processors which will reach speeds up to 5 Ghz. The new processors are aimed at enthusiasts like gamers and video editors. The new processors are an upgrade to the older processors and will allow better overclocking.

The new Core i9-9900K is the first processor to hit 5 GHz speeds and can be pre-ordered now. The new mainstream chips cost starting at $262 for a 3.7GHz Core i5-9600K and $488 for the i7-9900, while the X-series starts at $589 for 8-core 3.8GHz i7-9800X and goes up to $1,979 for the 18-core, 3GHz i9-9980XE. With the new 9th Gen lineup, Intel is competing directly with the new AMD Ryzen lineup. However, AMD does hold an advantage in terms core count on the regular processors. That said, both the companies are going toe-to-toe to make sure they have processors with better performances and it will be interesting to see how they compete in the real-life scenarios.

Thays crazy the speed it can reach, once all the issues are worked out I may look into getting one if these beasts.

Pretty impressed, but I've heard there's a lot of overheating issues?

All i need in my life is a 20 core processor with clock speeds at 5ghz. Thanks..

Too bad pulling 5ghz on these causes them to get near 100c at full load.

Intel knows how to do it :) 5Ghz GJ :)

FOV But my current processor is already pulled 5.1Ghz...

Those benchmarks are likely the 'safe' estimate and not done on rigs meant for hard core over clocking(Watercooling and such).
Give those CPUs to Linus or JayzTwoCents and they'll get the numbers higher than that.

Overkill but me likey me wanty

What type of cooling was required again to reach that speed? A fridge like cooling system? This thing runs hot at the moment people are struggling to keep the temps below 70c on stock settings

Jeez that's insane, the battle for the best processors continue
