Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 pre-load starts on PC Tuesday

3.4
Treyarch has announced when Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 pre-order customers on PC can start pre-loading, and the studio also revealed a 120fps cap for Blackout mode at launch.

Those who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for PC through Battle.net will be able to pre-load the game on Tuesday, October 9.

This should provide folks with plenty of time to prepare for the game’s release on October 12.

It was also announced Blackout, the battle royale mode, will be capped at 120fps on PC when it launches. Treyarch said it is committed to supporting an uncapped framerate, but it wants to “roll things out carefully.”

Because the framerate affects the load on the servers, the studio said it wants to “ensure the game delivers a great playable experience,” during its first moments.

One the team feels the servers are stable, it will raise the cap to 144fps. Should all go well, it will enable uncapped framerates within the first few days.

This only applies to Blackout. Zombies and multiplayer modes in Black Ops 4 will be uncapped day-one.

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases next week it will include 14 maps, or 15 when the free Nuketown map is included. It releases in November.

Rolling out things carefully is such a good idea. I hate when a new game comes out and it just cant handle the load of players.

Spencer You know what a preload means! We're getting close to release date. I think preloading games is one of the best things of this generation, the digital age has taken away the worst part of buying games.. waiting in line to pick up your copy.

That was one of my most favourite things especially on release day/night seeing so many other locals who love what you love
