Microsoft Says It Has No Plans to Bring Halo 5: Guardians to PC

4.6
As one of the biggest of Xbox’s franchises, Halo‘s history with the console platform goes back all the way to the original Xbox in 2001. However, while hopes were brought back up recently that the series’ most recent mainline entry would appear on PC, Microsoft has quelled rumors that Halo 5: Guardians could find a release on PC.

In a statement to CNET, Microsoft addressed recent rumors that suggested Halo 5: Guardians would potentially be coming to PC, which was originally fueled by a listing on Amazon for the title with updated box art that featured the title as an “Xbox One Console Exclusive.”

Normally, this type of language is used by Microsoft to note titles that are available on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, as opposed to titles being “Xbox One Exclusive” and that only belong on the console.

Naturally, this lead many to believe that the title would be coming to PC down the line, though in response to CNET, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that “we do not have plans to launch Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10 PC.”

While Guardians may not wind up on PC, the series will at least make its appearance beyond console with the upcoming Halo Infinite, which is the next mainline installment for the series from 343 Industries, and was confirmed to be coming to both Xbox One (or potentially the next Xbox console) and PC during its reveal at E3 2018.

Halo 5: Guardians is available now on Xbox One.

It's a shame, they could make more money and get more activity on the game.

Halo should remain one of the very few reasons to make the purchase of an Xbox. Microsoft's console doesn't have a lot going for it anymore so while it would be nice to have this game on PC, i think it's best to try and boost console sales with the game.

Sure is a shame, but it makes me happy because I want Halo to remain a xbox exclusive like it has.
