Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

The announcement came via Major Nelson of Xbox on Tuesday, August 28, with the title going live on the Xbox One on the same day.

Fans have been requesting MW2 as a Backwards Compatible title for years, and will now have the opportunity to play the game on the Xbox One.

It has been reported that a player's statistics will remain the same in the Backwards Compatible version of MW2 as they were on the Xbox 360, meaning that if your account was banned previously, it still will be.

All MW2 DLC will also be playable in the BC version, however, a player must already have purchased it in the past.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was originally released in 2009, and gained a substantial amount of fanfare for its new take on the CoD franchise.

Wizard I've always wanted this to happen, could it possibly cut down on the modders? let's just hope so ay so we can go back to the good old days of 1v1 on rust and having kids send us death threat messages for being better than them lol


Unfortunately the "toxic" community that we all love because of the immense laughs is never gonna be around again. People will get com banned before they even send a message like that lmao. Sucks that even though the game is back, the real feeling we all had as kids will never come back :(


You have a very good point there, I loved it when you had all the kids messaging you threat messages was the best. We will never experience that again :(

Since there's crazy numbers it makes it a lot more fun, I've ran into a lot of people with mics in the little bit I played today. Only problem is there's still a big modding problem in public lobbies which is a shame.
