Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

The announcement came via Major Nelson of Xbox on Tuesday, August 28, with the title going live on the Xbox One on the same day.

Fans have been requesting MW2 as a Backwards Compatible title for years, and will now have the opportunity to play the game on the Xbox One.

It has been reported that a player's statistics will remain the same in the Backwards Compatible version of MW2 as they were on the Xbox 360, meaning that if your account was banned previously, it still will be.

All MW2 DLC will also be playable in the BC version, however, a player must already have purchased it in the past.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was originally released in 2009, and gained a substantial amount of fanfare for its new take on the CoD franchise.

Unfortunately the "toxic" community that we all love because of the immense laughs is never gonna be around again. People will get com banned before they even send a message like that lmao. Sucks that even though the game is back, the real feeling we all had as kids will never come back :(

Am I the only one thinking it's bittersweet that it was BC instead of remastered. I love that when the servers aren't being butt **** I'll be able to play but at the same time, it's gonna be a mod fest. I wasn't even really wanting a remaster but considering everyone in the game has everything because they got in lobbies it just kind of ruins the enjoyment. I wish they would've made it backwards compatible, stopped supporting the 360 version, and reset everything so there wouldn't be a risk of ruining it with a remake

I actually agree, they took way too damn long, especially when it has remained the number one most requested game. It just doesn't make sense to me that they wait this long, I figured it was because they may remaster it but I guess they just decided to take their time.
