Rocket League Progression Update Tweaks How You Earn XP

4
The next update for Psyonix’s Rocket League will launch next week on August 29, 2018, for all platforms. This time around, the tweaks made will focus on how you earn XP and playing online with friends.

The aptly titled Progression Update makes quite a few changes to the game’s progression system. First, the level 75 cap that was previously in place will be removed. Also, players will no longer earn XP from Offline Matches. According to the blog post from the developers, this is so no one can “game the system” to garner rewards.

Rocket League will also see Clubs added to the game. This will allow for players to create their own Club with a personalized name and Club Tag and compete together online. Up to 20 players can join a single Club. More about the new feature will be outlined before the update releases.

There are a few other small features coming as part of the new update. Avatar borders, real-time filtering, new achievements/trophies, particle details video option, quality-of-life changes, and bug fixes will also make their way into the Progression Update.

Additionally, a brief update on Rocket Pass and RocketID was outlined. The Rocket Pass will go live a week after the Progression Update; an in-game counter will be present when it is close to release. The RocketID is slated for release at the end of September.

Rocket League is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, Switch, PC, Linux, and Mac.
