Quake Champions Goes Permanently Free to Play; Available Now on PC

4.1
During Bethesda’s keynote at QuakeCon, the publisher announced that its multiplayer first-person shooter Quake Champions is going permanently free to play.

While there have been free windows before, now players will be able to download the game and get into the action at their own leisure either through Bethesda’s own launcher or via steam.

The switch to free to play has already gone through at the moment of this writing, so you can get stuck in right now if you’re interested.

The game was announced back at E3 2016 and has remained faithful to its PC-only nature ever since. Now it has a chance to open up to a completely new player base for a second chance at success.

During the livestream, a new trailer was aired, and you can watch it below. It’s funny how I can still recognize the sound of guns from the first Quake while watching the video. I guess familiar things from one’s youth aren’t easily forgotten.

Tbh I can see why it's free to play, who would spend their money on it?

Never been a big fan of the Quake series, but it is one of the originals so this is nice to see.
