Electronic Arts Promises “New IP for All Platforms”

4.5
During today’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, Electronic Arts Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson promised incoming new IP.

“In addition to amazing games coming this year like Battlefield V, Anthem, our latest EA Sports titles and Command and Conquer Rivals, we have new IP in development for all platforms. Across EA worldwide studios, Respawn is developing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for FY 20 (between April 2019 and March 2020), another with another new project in the pipeline.

Motive is developing new IP, our mobile studios are working on several new titles, and we have more projects underway. At the foundation of every experience will be choice, fairness, value, and fun, that ensure we’re delivering for our broad and diverse player audience.”

Wilson continued by mentioning that “subscriptions will bring more choice, reduced friction, and value in a world of ever-increasing content.” He also explained that cloud gaming, machine learning, and AI, will change the way games are made and played, with EA continuing to invest in these areas at the core of their player network.

Later in the call, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen mentioned that the bulk of dollar investment for the publisher is focused on new IP, alongside building new studios and hiring new developers to create those new IP. This will feed into the subscription business with more content.

Jorgensen also mentioned that there are “most likely one or two sizable titles coming” and more color on that will be provided later this year.

THQ Didn't they say this week they were thinking of mking a battle royale game? My guess is that's what this will be

Probably. They have been talking about looking into it.
Personally, they shouldn't do it. Talk about MicroTransaction central.
EA sucks.

100% see them making a Royale Game
