World of Warcraft Makes Base Game and Expansions Free

4.6
World of Warcraft’s Battle Chest, a collection of content which included all of the game’s expansions along with the base game itself, is now available as part of the monthly subscription fee. This means that for the usual price of $14.99 per month, players can now access all of World of Warcraft’s previously released content without having to make separate purchases.

The iconic MMORPG released the pre-patch for its upcoming seventh expansion, Battle for Azeroth, yesterday in preparation for the full release later this year. The price drop followed soon afterwards.

Adding all of the previously released content into a single subscription fee could possibly make the game more appealing to players; essentially making it less of a struggle for new players to get involved, and giving returning players a chance to explore expansions that they may have missed out on throughout the years. The current price-tag allows players to build their character to level 110 without having to make any additional purchases, however it’s currently unclear if this will be a permanent price drop.

World of Warcraft’s Battle of Azeroth expansion will be available August 14 for a one-off fee of $49.99.

Not a bad price at all, and good to know the expansion is free, save me those big bucks.

$15 is pretty cheap for everything, not a huge fan of WOW but I think other players would be happy.
