As far as Vampyr’s performance at retail goes, Dontnod Entertainment recently revealed how the game has done in its first month following launch. Vampyr has sold over 450,000 copies in its first month at market according to Dontnod. These sales are totaled together from the three platforms that Vampyr is available on — PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Through the broken functions of Google Translate, Oskar Guilbert, CEO of Dontnod, spoke about how pleased he is with these numbers out of the gate. “We are very proud, because since its launch, our last original creation meets a great craze among players. Thanks to our new role as co-producer, we will greatly benefit from this commercial success,” Guilbert’s statement roughly translated to.

While these sales might not seem like a lot compared to other major releases, it’s a relatively good start for Vampyr at market considering the size of Dontnod Entertainment. It’s important to remember that this is only the studio’s third game that they have released following the episodic narrative-driven experience Life is Strange and 2013’s Remember Me. Internally, Dontnod is viewing this game as what they refer to as a “double-A” title, and therefore aren’t expecting it to do the larger numbers that you might see from triple-A games.

As mentioned, Vampyr is currently out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
