Fortnite Developer Wants To Change The Game’s Endgame

4.4
I love Fortnite, I really do, but I have to admit I dread the end game in every battle royale game. See, getting to the end game isn’t that difficult if you know what you’re doing, but once you’re there, it becomes a bit of a shit show. The strategies all seem to rely exclusively on spamming two things, both in support of one another: build towers, then spam rocket launchers from on there. Which means that if you aren’t lucky enough to wrest a rocket launcher in the early game, or don’t like building (or aren’t good at it), you’re not winning.

Epic Games seems to agree that this is a problem, because in a new blog post, they admit that the end game in the battle royale mode is not conducive to the variety of play styles the game can otherwise support.

“It’s important to support a variety of late game strategies, that don’t boil down to “just build lol”. We strongly believe that the evolution of Fortnite supports a wide range of play styles and counterplay. Currently, the superiority of shotguns, rockets, and uncapped building are such a dominant play style in the final circle that most other strategies are being drowned out,” they said. And I’m not the one who bolded that text, they did, so it’s clear they feel a bit strongly about this.

What are the changes they will make to fix this? Well, nerfing the weapons that are spammed the most, such as the rocket launcher and shotgun, are listed as the obvious fixes, but they are also experimenting with things like resource caps (so you can’t just spam towers upon towers). They mention they will be inviting community engagement and input, which is also good.

This is definitely not good. Thats why they've started to decrease the resources and ammo and shit. They just want to make it easier for others which will potentially ruin the game.

This could be either good or bad. It depends on how they change it and make it function.

Wouldn't mind this change to be honest, might just make the game even the more awesome?

They need to stop compensating for the average players. Leave it as is and let them learn like the rest of us did. Practice makes perfect, why should people practice lots for that aspect to maybe be limited?

The playground mode will be a good way for players to practice and imo it should be a permanent mode. Build battles are what make the game exciting. 99.9% of the time you come up against someone who doesn't know how to build, it's an easy kill.

Building is just to important to "not be good at it". Might wanna get on that PUGB train.

Lmao why use an RPG when you can use the now insanely OP C4/Minigun.
They're going to lose a lot of players if this material cap does come.. without such unique build play, this game would just be any other mediocre BR.

I never take RPGs in game, its boring and i never do anything with them anyway

Bruh the reason they want to change it is because they want people to stay for the long term so they can make more money. They want people to feel like they aren't complete ass cheeks so they keep coming back to play. Things like lowering the amount of mats lamas drops, and lowering the amount of mats you get from destroying certain objects.

Cyka I would welcome this change to be honest, it will give everyone a more fair chance too.

The game is fair, not everyone can be a winner
