New Ace Combat 7 Trailer Finally Reveals the Story

4.1
Today Bandai Namco released a brand new trailer of its upcoming game Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, eight months after the last we saw back in 2017.

Like the other main trailers, this one focuses on the story and gives us a chance to enjoy the progress made by the development team in just under a year.

We learn that the protagonist is a member of a penal unit following an unknown incident. His unit is expendable, and he will move from the very bottom to becoming a hero as the story progresses.

Interestingly, the unit markings on the aircraft’s tail are crossed over by paint called “sin lines.” The more there are, the more heinous the crime committed by the pilot is. Protagonist “Trigger” has three, which means that his crime is definitely serious.

We also get to see more planes (starting with the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Dassault Rafale M), more weather effects, and more dogfighting. Did I say that it looks fantastic?

One last little detail is quite weird. The dialogue in the North American and European versions of the trailer is different. The language is definitely harsher in the European version at the beginning of the trailer, then it becomes harsher in the American version in the second part (the Japanese version has the same dialogue as the European one). The reason for this is unknown.

Can't wait for this game to come out. Wish they would release a date already

Ahh the graphics look insane. Thats one of my favourite things about some games, the graphics (ofc the gameplay counts as well), they can make the gameplay so much better sometimes.

Still no estimate on a release date? If this game isn't literally years ahead of its time there will be backlash for bandai namco

This needs to just come out already. No release date still. Ffs
