Forza Horizon 4 Director States Motorcycles Will Not Be Playable

3.9
At Microsoft’s press briefing during this year’s E3, Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games revealed that the next iteration of its open-world racing game, Forza Horizon 4, would be coming in just a few months. We also got a first look of the game with a new trailer that featured a slew of different vehicles, one of which had never been playable in the game before: motorcycles. Viewing the trailer, it seemed motorcycles may have been a new vehicle type added to the game. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

While speaking to Turn 10 Studios’ Design Director John Knowles about the possibility of new or returning car brands for Forza Horizon 4, he clarified that motorcycles will not be in the upcoming racing game.

“No, you can’t drive motorcycles, just to get that out of the way. It’s a showcase event. It’s a motocross stunt team you’re racing against just like you’ve raced against jets, planes, boats, and trains,” Knowles states as he explains the vehicles actual role in the game. “We know some portion of our audience has wanted to see playable motorcycles. Maybe someday but not this game.”

There you have it. If you were looking forward to driving dirt bikes through the mud or zooming through England’s streets with a sports bike, you won’t be able to this time around. As stated, Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games hear you and maybe, just maybe, we’ll see it in a future Forza Horizon title.

While motorcycles won’t be in Forza Horizon 4, it will feature dynamic weather and seasons will be, destructible walls and the UK setting.

Forza Horizon 4 will launch for Xbox One on October 2, 2018. It will be available day-and-date on the console’s Games Pass subscription service.

I mean it is a racing game so i dont see why they shoulddn't be allowed.

Damn thats a let down I seen the motorcycles in the trailer and was pretty enticed to play the game to be able to use em welp never mind. I am sure it will still be a good game though.

Who cares this is the greatest game of all time don't care what anyone says

That kind of sucks, would of been cool to have bikes in the game but oh well, still gonna be great game.

ItzSaxbyyy I dont really mind this, yeah they are fairly popular in the UK but to be honest it will be a refreshing experience regardless with an enitre new geographic area, the dynamic weather and im sure they will include other popular UK vehicles like the trailer showed a landrover and a london cabby

Its all down to what they do with the map tho. The Crew 2 has a huge map and alot of variation. From what i remember from the Horizon maps they take an area and do it there own way. FH3 is probably the best to explain this i personally thought it was a poor attempt at doing Australia & with the DLC there was potential to add Sydney but instead they added the hotwheels thing lol.... It may not be the same case with FH4 and we can't really tell until we play the beta or whatever but from what i've saw its been a little bit of London, Edinburgh & some countryside... there's alot more to the UK than that.

Kinda sucks that bikes won't be added but we all know motorcycle's have a much faster time to reach with the RPM.

Shame, this is one of the reasons i believe The CRew 2 has much more potential tha FH4 imo. The vast diversity within The Crew 2 looks insane with the amount of vehicle types you can try.

SR20DET I would like to see bikes come to Forza, well the Horizon series anyway... Also if they know that the audience wants it, why wouldn't they add them to this game? Feels like a missed opportunity.

So if they are ever stale with ideas they can just throw another one of these together, tweak the graphics, leave everything else the same but be praised for "innovation" for adding in a motorbike. I know a lot of people really enjoy the Forza series but I don't really understand how everyone buys it every year when it all just seems the same. But I'm the same with 2K and Madden so I am a hypocrite who doesn't really understand the entire dynamic of the game I suppose

People buy it because there fans of it. Majority of forzas fans is the drift community which i have been part of for several years. The motorsport series i would say is the stale one as its went way down hill from the fourth. Location does play a big part of it also as the community need good places to drift.

I have to say tho i really thought they where gonna add bikes ect into the game as its something i have been saying the horizon franchise has needed over the years. But the way there making these games now theee ripping alot from the old test drive unlimited games... both the crew 2 and forza horizon 4 have infact... Still think they should be in the game tho its only gonna make the competing harder for them.
