Call of Duty’s Vice President Addresses Lack of Campaign in Black Ops 4

4.4
Treyarch shocked (well, as much as you can when it leaks a few weeks ahead of the reveal) the Call of Duty community a few days ago when they announced that their next entry, Black Ops 4, will be the first Call of Duty game in history to not include a traditional campaign. While it is a big change, it seems like the higher-ups aren’t exactly worried about the game.

While speaking to GameSpot, Call of Duty’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Robert Kostich addressed the many criticisms coming their way about that decision to remove that aspect of the game.

“As we go forward [through the year], fans are going to learn a lot about the story that is embedded in this game. Look, it’s not a dedicated campaign like it was in the past. We’re telling stories differently this year. We think our community is going to love this game from end to end, because it has so much to offer. The core focus of it, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem really. I think what our community is going to love at the end of the day comes down to the gameplay and the fun you have with it. And I think that’s what this game is going to have in spades. This is a little different from what we’ve done in the past.”

This being the first entry in the entire series to do something this bold, it’ll be interesting to see if the game’s revamped Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout modes will be enough to win over long-time fans, as well as new players.

I bet with the back lash of no Single Player, they'll end up finishing the one they trashed and sell it as a DLC. Lol.

More and more bad news about this game if you ask me. I have low expectations.

Well then I guess I'm not going to love it because as much as I didn't like BO3 I still would have liked to have seen a campaign. Maybe something to resolve the issues BO3 story had or have a story before the events of BO3 like the game is set.
