Valve Acquires Firewatch Developer Campo Santo

4
Firewatch developer Campo Santo announced today that the studio has been acquired by Steam owner Valve.

According to the announcement, all twelve members of the team have agreed to join Valve, where they will continue to work as game developers as they did until now. On top of that, their current project that was announced at The Game Awards, In the Valley of Gods, will continue with no interruption.

On top of that, support for Firewatch will also continue.

And no, if you’re wondering, at least to our knowledge, this won’t speed up in any shape or form the development of Half-Live 3. Yeah. I had to go there.

We do hear that according to the developers at Campo Santo, Valve was an “obvious match,” as they feel the same way about game development.

At the moment, In The Valley of Gods has been announced exclusively for PC, and considering Valve’s acquisition, it’s likely to remain the same for the time being.
