Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

3.7
If you’re one of the people who believe that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is inferior to its original counterpart, and you own an Xbox One, then today is your lucky day. Microsoft and publisher Activision have officially revealed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is now backward compatible with Xbox One.

If you don’t currently own the game and you’re looking to flashback to 2007, then you’re in even more luck because the title is currently a part of Xbox’s Spring Sale, and is discounted by 15% for all players as well as 25% for Xbox Live Gold members, bringing the price down to $16.99 and $14.99 respectively.

Up until this point, the Modern Warfare series was the only subfranchise in Call of Duty, and with the rumors that Modern Warfare 2 may be getting a remaster, it will be interesting to see if the other entries will be joining the Backward Compatible list in the coming weeks.

In other Backward Compatible news, back in January, it was revealed that Far Cry 2 and Sniper Elite V2 would be joining the list.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was originally released on November 5, 2007, and is also available on PlayStation 3 and PC.

Why would they remake Cod 4 then make the original backwards compatible?
