PC players say they're getting unfairly banned after GTA Update

5
Rockstar appear to be suddenly banning a lot of PC players from GTA Online after a recent game update.

A growing thread in the GTA Online subreddit contains more than a thousand posts from users saying they’ve been banned since the Southern San Andreas Super Sports Series update, which adds new vehicles and the Hotring Circuit to the game. The wave of bans began after the update launched this week and appears to only be affecting PC players.

As the original post points out, everyone complains about the legitimacy of their ban, whether it was for a good reason or not. But the recent sharp spike in negative Steam reviews for Grand Theft Auto V certainly lends credence to the idea that something’s amiss.

Redditors have theorized that the tunables in SSASSS may be getting flagged as illegal mods, but it's impossible to confirm whether that's actually the case.

Rockstar hasn’t responded publicly to the complaints yet and their Twitter accounts haven’t mentioned anything. A client patch Sunday morning that altered the SSASSS update's tunables may suggest they’re aware of the issue.

We’ll update this story as we learn more. In the meantime, it may be best to wait before logging in to GTA Online. Thanks to Polygon for noticing this issue.

You get banned if you break the rules, its that simple, play the game legit and you will be fine. I just dont see how people can moan when they get banned for modding lol. Dont get me wrong, because i mod GTA, and i have been banned, and i never moan about it.

Wouldn't surprise me. Thought a lot of PC players have graphically enhancing mods that aren't allowed. Boom ban.

MushroomElm 1) Rockstar already said any files not their in Multiplayer were not allowed(visuals included)
2) I'm sure 90% of the people complaining had been in some kind of Modded Lobby, recieved money or other things not earned.

GTA is dead. When will people learn that? They add five races to the game with a new name and call it a big update. "Hey, we added 5 new cars that cost 2 million each. HUGE UPDATE. BIGGEST HYPE WE'VE EVER HAD!!!!!!"

I wouldn't say the game is dead. Most of my friends lists are playing the game at the moment and I am also finding myself on there more than ever.

To be honest, GTA is far from dead. These last several months have been in fact the highest number of the players on GTA 5 since it released.

Lol i have to agree with you on that one... It certainly ain't dead that just makes me laugh when i hear it tbh.
This was just a normal ban wave that rockstar has been repeating for years due to the amount of modders in the game. Although there have been instances in the past where people where banned for either wrong or misleading reasons. But they always get resolved.
