Fortnite is Getting Xbox One Cross-Platform Support Soon

4.1
Fortnite continues to build up steam in the gaming space with no hint of slowing down. According to a brand new reveal by the development team, Xbox One cross-platform play will be coming to consoles in the near future.

News comes from Epic Games development blog, where they revealed the added benefits to Fortnite players. Not only will the battle royale game support cross-platform play, but those already invested in the ecosystem can share progression and purchases across PC, Mac, iOS, and (eventually) Android.

Like all forms of cross-play, the feature is opt-in. In other words, don’t expect to automatically begin playing with the best and brightest on PC and iOS, but head into the settings if you are interested.

While Xbox One cross-platform play is undoubtedly big news, it is far from the biggest news coming to Fortnite. Earlier this week it was revealed that the game would be coming to both iOS and Andorid mobile devices, somehow. Not only that but a new 20 person team mode will be opening up for a limited time.

Fortnite has been boasting unprecedented success lately, even in the face of the behemoth it is based on: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. As of earlier this week, Fortnite is now the most watched game on streaming service Twitch. On top of that, the battle royale game melted servers a month ago, boasting 3.4 million concurrent players across all systems.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with iOS and Android coming in the near future.

PC Idk how I feel about crossplay. Its cool and all, but Controller vs Mouse is a joke. So idk how that's going to turn out. I would love to see Crossplay on all noncompetitive games. I know that would never happen but I feel that would be the ideal thing to do as playing on pc/mouse is much better "if you are good with a mouse on shooters" It does take some time to get good playing with a mouse to be better then a controller player. What I mean is you can pick up a controller and play for 2 days and be decent at aiming. With a mouse, it takes forever to be decent and even longer to master. We will just have to wait and see how it all turns out! I believe in Epic Games and I think they will do the right thing. Have they let us down yet?

its already crossplay with PS4

Tentacion I don't wanna face consoles on mobile

I'm pretty sure you can disabled cross play like other games that have cross play.

I'm still frightened to see cross-platform with PC. Watching Streamers who play on PC is nothing to what Xbox players can even come close too. If this happens, every win will probably be a PC player due to the quick reactions and the fast building they can do.

This is something well needed for this game. It's games like this that cross plate form should have.
